Pedestrian struck, critically injured

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A car hit a pedestrian in Burlington Monday afternoon, leaving a 63-year-old man in critical condition.

Police say Michael Sears of Shelburne was making a turn on Colchester Avenue at Barrett Street when he hit the man in the crosswalk. No charges have been filed. Police say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

Police have not released the name of the pedestrian, but did say he is from Winooski.
