Police want fingerprints from Currier home burglary suspect

ESSEX, Vt. -

Police in Essex have gotten a court order to take fingerprints from a man who police say may have burglarized the home of a missing couple.

Bill and Lorraine Currier disappeared from their Colbert Street home eight months ago. The police investigation has centered on evidence collected from the couple's car and home, but no major breaks have been made in the case.

Now, a Vermont Superior Court judge has ordered a man who police are calling a person of interest, not a suspect, to submit his fingerprints and palm prints to police.

The man's name is blacked out in court paperwork, but police believe his prints will match forensic evidence found inside the home. Investigators would not say if they are linking that same man to the couple's disappearance.
