Vermont Attorney General Bill Sorrell is still deciding whether to appeal the Vermont Yankee ruling.
The state lost its federal court case to Entergy, with the judge ruling the state does not have the power to shut down the plant for safety reasons.
Sorrell says the state is reviewing the federal judge's decision with law firm Kellogg Huber in Washington, D.C.
"At this point we're just consulting with them about the appeal. If we decide to appeal then the role that firm might play remains to be seen," said Sorrell, D-Vermont.
If the state chooses to appeal it must do so by Feb. 22. Sorrell says he will have an answer by then.
