BURLINGTON, Vt. -
The independent candidate for Burlington mayor says she's not a spoiler in the race.
Some have suggested that Wanda Hines could siphon votes away from Democrat Miro Weinberger, handing the election to Republican Kurt Wright.
But Hines says she's in it to win it, and points out that while debates have been somewhat warm-- even heated-- between her opponents, she's stayed cool.
"I remember looking at my opponents and I said 'I can take these guys,'" Hines said with a laugh. "We have different life lens experiences and I've been around a while, 50 years in Burlington. I've had some great teachers. I am looking at them going yeah, huh."
