MONTPELIER, Vt. -
The Vermont attorney general wants more time to respond to a motion for fees surrounding the Vermont Yankee appeal.
A federal judge ruled last month that the Vt. Legislature overstepped its authority in trying to close down the nuclear plant over concerns about safety. After that win, Entergy said the state should cover its legal fees. The company filed a motion seeking $4.6 million to cover the army of lawyers employed in Entergy's lawsuit against the state.
But Bill Sorrell, D-Vt. Attorney General, wants more time. He's asking the federal court for an extension to March 9.
