Here we are in Paris, Well, not quite! We're actually in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, at Le Jardin Daniel Seguin. It's an eleven acre public garden just east of Montreal. It's a beautiful garden and it's got a great history. This garden actually is associated with the local horticultural college right across the street. Daniel Seguin was a professor there and he decided to take over this open, empty space across the road. It originally was just flat and with nothing there other than cows. Over the years, they've turned it into a beautiful botanical garden.
Each year the students come in and do projects creating new gardens. Right now there's about 20 demonstration gardens here. They have everything from water gardens, to this classic French garden with the big alley and beautiful flower beds. They have an ecological garden, a medieval garden, a zen garden, and many other different gardens you can come and visit.
It's a beautiful place to come and get new ideas of new vegetable and flower varieties, new techniques, new structures, and all kinds of different ways to put your garden together. This garden is relatively young, it's only been here since 1995.
It's definitely a great place to come and get some ideas for your garden in the summer.
