More help may be on the way to Vermont dairy farmers.
The state's congressional delegation has introduced a bill that would extend a program providing payments to farmers to help weather fluctuating milk prices.
Farmers now receive payments when milk prices fall below $16.94 cents per hundred pounds of milk, but the program is set to expire in October.
The proposed legislation would extend the program for another year.
