South Burlington to consider development ban again

Posted: Updated:
SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -

The South Burlington City Council is due to consider a controversial development ban again on Tuesday.

The council voted in December to draft an ordinance that would ban most new construction.

Golf course developers asked a judge to prevent council chairwoman Sandra Dooley from voting on the matter.

She and her husband, Vermont Supreme Court Justice John Dooley, fought the development near their home, losing a 2006 court battle.

However, early this month the court denied an injunction.

The interim ordinance is scheduled to be discussed with possible action.
