VERNON, Vt. -
There's a new twist in the ongoing saga over the future of Vermont Yankee.
The owners of the nuclear plant are now appealing a court ruling that allows the plant to stay open.
Entergy filed a notice overnight asking the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals to review the decision that was widely perceived as being in the company's favor.
The problem, according to Entergy, is that the court didn't address the possibility that state regulators could close the nuclear plant by denying it permission to store radioactive waste on the property.
Eight days ago the state also filed an appeal to overturn Judge Murtha's ruling.
