New Lyndon State College president taking pay cut

The incoming president at Lyndon State College will take a pay cut from his old job.

Joe Bertolino was named last month as the next leader of LSC. And according to an article in a campus publication called The Critic, Bertolino will make $33,000 less next year in his new job. He was paid $175,000 as a vice president at Queens College in New York City. In Vermont, he will make $142,000.

According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, the average compensation for a college president nationwide is $375,000 per year.
