ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A few hundred people have gathered at New York's state capitol building in Albany to press for repeal of the state's tough new gun laws. The coalition of conservative groups says it was set to deliver 400,000 postcards to members of the Assembly calling to roll back the NYSAFE act.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gov. Andrew Cuomo and St. Regis Mohawk tribal leaders have signed an agreement to ensure the Mohawks keep their exclusive casino territory in northern New York while paying the state $30 million in gambling proceeds that have been withheld. Today's accord also opens the door to negotiations over Mohawk land claims near their reservation along the Canadian border. Talks are expected to start in 10 days.

BROADALBIN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they've resumed their search of an upstate New York lake for a father and son who went fishing last weekend and didn't return. The Fulton County Sheriff's Office tells local media outlets that 51-year-old Mark Richards and 24-year-old Brent Richards, both of Broadalbin, went fishing in a small boat on the Great Sacandaga Lake Saturday morning.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - 2 of the last surviving members of a Marine Corps commando unit from World War II are among the dozens of veterans who have been honored by the New York Senate. Gerald West of Fort Edward and Robert Addison of Glens Falls were among the original 900 members of the 1st Marine Raider Battalion, dubbed "Edson's Raiders" after their commander.
