An armed robber has struck again in St. Albans.

Police say the latest victim was a woman getting into her car early Sunday morning on Jewett Avenue in St. Albans Town.

Police say the suspect showed a handgun and after stealing the victim's money, made her lay face down as he stole her car. The car was located about an hour later nearby.

"When people start to be ordered around we worry this might be an escalation. At the same time it might have been a means to more easily escape," said St. Albans Police Chief Gary Taylor.

It's the third armed robbery in the area this month and police say they are all similar. Last Thursday a woman was robbed as she got out of her car at South Main Grocery. The previous Saturday a man was mugged outside his home on Rugg Street. In each case, the suspect was described as a white male about 5-foot, 6-inches tall. He was wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt and a face mask and carrying a handgun. Call St. Albans police if you know anything about these crimes.
