The University of Vermont ski and men's basketball teams were honored on Sunday with a parade down Church Street.
The ski team won its first NCAA National Championship since 1994 and sixth in the program's history, wrapping up the title on March 10 in Bozeman, Montana. The men's basketball team won the America East Championship for the fifth time in the last 10 years when it knocked off top seed Stony Brook on the road also on March 10. The Catamounts advanced to the NCAA Tournament where they topped Lamar for only their second-ever NCAA victory, before falling to No. 1 North Carolina.
The Head Coaches for both teams made brief remarks to the crowd in attendance following the parade. Also on hand for speeches was UVM Interim President John Bramley, Athletic Director Dr. Robert Corran and Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger.
