SHELBURNE, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont developer says he's going to buy a mobile home park in Shelburne and he wants to find ways to keep residents living there.
Burlington developer Tony Pomerleau says the deal with the owners of the Shelburnewood mobile home park has not been finalized, but the deal is "going to happen."
The park's owners would like to sell it. Plans to convert the park into mixed-income housing fell through in 2010 after facing stiff opposition from the Shelburne Development Review Board.
Vicki Carleton of the park's residents association says Pomerleau has suggested subdividing the property or converting it into a co-op.
Carleton tells the Burlington Free Press the co-op suggestion would make it possible for residents to own the land under their homes.
