The Middlebury and Norwich women's lacrosse teams meet Wednesday night at 5 in the opening round of the NCAA DIII Tournament. It's the first time these two rival schools have ever faced off on the lacrosse field. The Cadets and Panthers have a storied history on the ice. In fact, two members of the Norwich's Heather Marrison and Emily Fluke are members of both the hockey and lacrosse teams.
Meanwhile, the Castleton women's lacrosse team will make its first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament Wednesday afternoon when the Spartans visit number two seed SUNY-Cortland. The Red Dragons are 17-1 this season and are riding a 16 game win streak. Castleton has won 11 of it's last 12 games. The Spartans have a tough task ahead, but are taking the attitude that anything can happen.
