Three in a "Ro", Rutland Makes History

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

 The individual Vermont State high school tennis championships were held on Saturday. The boys' singles final being played between brothers for the first time in state history. The Ro brothers from Essex face off for this year's final. Freshman Daniel Ro playing his brother, two-time defending champion, Junior, David Ro. Big brother David making quick work of younger brother Daniel winning 6-1, 6-1. David has never lost a set in Vermont high school tennis. Ro makes it three in a row, just the second player ever to win 3-straight state crowns.

 Doubles action, Cameron Pierce and Peter Gibb of Rutland taking on Sam Salvas and Sam Birmingham of Stowe. The pairs battling out an exciting first set, but the duo from Rutland pushing ahead in the second. Cameron Pierce and Peter Gibb win it 6-4, 6-2. They are the first players from Rutland to make it to the final, and now the first to win the state title.

In Girls' tennis action, South Burlington sweeps the titles. Sam Wulfson is the singles champion. Erika Price and Linley Shaw win doubles.
