A Manchester man has pleaded no contest to charges that he accidentally shot and killed his sleeping friend.

24-year-old Nicholas Bell thought he was firing an air gun when he tried to wake up 24-year-old Jeffrey Charbonneau on Thanksgiving Day in 2010.

The gun Bell fired was actually a .22-caliber rifle.

According to the Rutland Herald, Bell will likely spend a year in jail after he's sentenced in June.
