A woman wanted for a shooting incident in St. Albans was captured Thursday morning.

Elizabeth Harrington, 48, was taken into custody on Route 7 after officers spotted her son's black BMW and pulled them over.

Police had been searching for Harrington since Wednesday afternoon. Police say she fired a shot through the door of her apartment after an argument with her landlord.

"It was a high priority for us to make sure we could get her arrested," St. Albans Police Sgt. Ben Couture said. "Whenever a weapon is involved and is discharged into a building, a commercial building, it becomes a serious offense."

Harrington pleaded not guilty to reckless endangerment and unlawful mischief charges. She was released without bail.
