Mother denies supplying alcohol in deadly Colchester crash

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A not guilty plea Tuesday from a mother accused of supplying the booze that led to a fatal drunk driving crash in Colchester.

Police say James Companion, 16, was drunk behind the wheel when he crashed his car, killing his passenger, Tasha Maring, 25.

Companion's mother, Melissa Grant, 43, was arraigned Tuesday on a felony charge of furnishing alcohol to a minor with death resulting.
