MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont State Police trooper says it's unclear if there's a common thread running through a series of four assaults in eastern Washington and western Orange counties reported over four days.
But all four cases involved victims in or near their vehicles.
Senior Trooper Darryl Cremo says a firearm was allegedly displayed in two cases.
Two of the incidents took place on June 5, one in Plainfield, the other in Orange. Another took place on June 6 in Orange or Topsham on U.S. Route 302 and on June 8 a man and woman stopped to help a broken down motorist who allegedly pulled a gun and chased them to East Calais.
