They claimed they'd take care of vulnerable adults, but police say a Vermont couple abused those people instead.
Police say Richard and Krista Hudson groomed and persuaded at least four vulnerable adults to move into their Ludlow home. Once there police say the Hudsons stole their benefits, wouldn't let the people leave, charged them rent, threatened them and in some cases beat them. Some of the victims were forced to double up in the same bed.
Three children were also allegedly abused and confined to their rooms.
At least seven victims were identified. Police say this could be just the tip of the iceberg. Several other people may have been victimized.
