Layoffs at OneMain Financial.
The lender is a member of CitiGroup, just like CitiBank.
Wednesday it closed its offices in Barre and Bennington, letting go seven people.
Branches in South Burlington and Rutland remain open and fully staffed.
A representative from OneMain told us South Burlington and Rutland will still service loans, but will not grant any new ones.
He said they targeted branches for closure that are small and less efficient with limited opportunities for growth.
