BURLINGTON, Vt. -
The 2012 Vermont Lake Monsters worked out for the first time in Burlington on Saturday Afternoon. Manager Rick Magnante is back for his second season with the Lake Monsters. He's joined by several players from last year's Stedler Division winning team and a few rookies selected by the Oakland A's in the MLB draft just 10 days ago. The season opens Monday, June 18th at Centennial Field as Vermont hosts Tri City at 7:05
Fans who come out to Centennial this season will notice a few changes to the historic ballpark.
The biggest addition is a brand new 27-foot by 16-foot video board and scoreboard in left field. The video board will give all fans a new game experience including player information and in-game promotions with fan interaction. Along with the video board, new lights and light towers have been installed. The visiting team has a brand new clubhouse located under the scoreboard. The infield also was resurfaced. In all, the Lake Monsters have spent roughly $1,000,000 in upgrades and renovations to Centennial Field over the past year.
