BRIDGEWATER, Vt. -
A historic bridge in Bridgewater Corners is finally back open, more than 20 years after it closed.
The new Route 100A bridge crosses the Ottauquechee River and connects Bridgewater and Plymouth.
The old bridge was closed in 1991 after it fell into disrepair. A temporary span replaced the aging structure.
Work on a new, permanent bridge finally began in 2010, but was slowed by Tropical Storm Irene.
Finally, after years of debate and work, it's back open to two-lane traffic.
