Vermont man gets Congressional Gold Medal

MANCHESTER, Vt. -

A Vermont man is being awarded the Congressional Gold Medal.

Nathaniel Boone, 84, of Manchester, was one of the first African-Americans integrated into the U.S. Marine Corp.

Boone will be among 200 Montford point Marines to receive the highest civilian honor from President Obama on June 27.

Boone served two years in the military and moved to Vermont to retire.
