NEWPORT, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man accused of breaking into a woman's home and refusing to let her leave has been banned from two towns.
Steven Lontine of Newport is not allowed to enter Barton, except to cross through on Interstate 91, or Craftsbury.
Police said the 47-year-old Lontine kept calling the woman where she lived in Barton and at work. The woman told police she'd been staying out of town since May 31 because she was afraid to stay in her own home.
The Caledonian-Record reports Lontine is accused of entering the woman's home on May 31 and taking away her phone. He pleaded not guilty to unlawful trespass and unlawful restraint on June 8.
