Winooski stabbing suspect denies charges

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A love triangle in Winooski ended in violence over the weekend.

Police say Agwik Aguier, 28, and George Mnyonge, 22, got into a fight over a girl during a cookout at an apartment building on Weaver Street.

Aguier told police he was jumped by four men. Police say during the altercation, Aguier stabbed Mnyonge four times in the chest, back and buttocks.

Monday, Aguier pleaded not guilty to the aggravated assault charge. He's being held on $15,000 bail. If convicted, he faces 15 years behind bars.
