HANOVER, N.H. -
Burrito sales are helping to raise money for cancer research.
Starting June 19, Boloco in Hanover, N.H., is donating 5 percent of all sales to the Prouty. It's an annual bike ride in the Upper Valley that supports the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. The fundraising event is part of the restaurant's goal to raise $50,000 in 15 days for cancer research.
"We are a part of the community and of course we care about the communities in which we do business and in which we all live. So, that is what our efforts to support the Prouty are. Really about supporting the community and being here and pulling our fair share," said John Pepper of Boloco.
"It makes me feel good because now I know I am contributing to a good cause and I might make someone's life be a little bit better," said Ellen Lamm of Hanover.
The restaurant also plans to enter a team in the Prouty. In the past, it has donated thousand of burritos to the event. The bike race takes place the weekend of July 13-14. Click here for more information on the Prouty.
