Electrical fire displaces Essex Junction families

ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. -

Traffic in Essex Junction was snarled Thursday morning after a fire forced crews to shut down part of Route 15.

Firefighters responded at around 6:15 a.m. to an apartment complex at 134 Pearl Street for an electrical fire that spread into the attic of the building.

Multiple departments responded. Crews were on scene for about two hours. Nine apartments were affected.

No one was injured. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced families.
