MONTPELIER, Vt. -
The dust-up over the logo at Cabot Creamery has now entered the race for the Attorney General.
Earlier this week, Cabot officials told us they dropped Vermont from the logo on their products to comply with the state's labeling law.
Attorney General Bill Sorrell told us it was Cabot's decision to replace the image of the state with a green barn representing the Northeast and more of its farmers' ownership.
Now Sorrell's primary opponent, T.J. Donovan, issued a statement saying he would protect the Vermont brand and help Vermonters follow the law.
Republican candidate Jack McMullen says the state should have found a way to let Cabot keep Vermont on its label.
And Gov. Peter Shumlin says his staff is working on a way to get Vermont back in the logo on Cabot products.
Meanwhile, Cabot is in New York City promoting Vermont this weekend. Cabot along with a host of other Vermont companies like Burton, Smuggler's Notch and Maple producers are hosting a Vermont adventure in Central Park.
