MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont will be eligible for federal aid for the severe storm and flash flooding that hit the state on May 29.
The president on Friday declared that a major disaster exists from the storms in Addison, Lamoille and Orleans counties.
The declaration means federal funding is available to state and eligible local governments and some private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the storm.
