Hinesburg community celebrates 250 years as town

A celebration in Hinesburg today-- 250 years in the making.
That's how long ago the town-- of just less than five thousand people-- was incorporated..
     Historic society representatives hosted a gathering at the town hall today where they read from the original town charter.
     Community members also recounted the town's early beginnings, and the Hinesburg Community Band-- lead by Rufus Patrick-- played an original tune commissioned for the celebration.
     Ferrisburgh, Monkton, and Hinesburg all celebrated 250th anniversaries this weekend.
