PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -
The races for U.S. Senate and Congress
are now set in New York after Tuesday's primary elections.
In the Republican primary for the 21st
District Congressional seat, Watertown businessman Matt Doheny easily beat
Kellie Greene, winning 72 percent of the vote to Greene's 28 percent. That
victory earns Doheny a rematch with incumbent Democrat Bill Owens in November.
In the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate, Wendy Long
won with 51 percent of the vote against Rep. Bob Turner and George Maragos.
Long will take on incumbent Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand in the general
election.
