VERNON, Vt. -

A Vernon couple is headed to prison for setting their own home on fire.

A judge Tuesday sentenced Rhonda Johnson, 53, to six months behind bars. Aaron Anderson, 31, will serve three months.

The couple torched their residence on Old Farm Road in April by setting up a timer to ignite clothing that had been soaked in paint thinner.

It's still unclear why they did it. According to the Brattleboro Reformer, Johnson claims she didn't do it for insurance money.
