A project to repair a historic covered bridge in Dummerston has been delayed.
The 140-year-old bridge over the West River was seriously damaged during Tropical Storm Irene.
The town had hoped to reopen the bridge to buses and emergency vehicles this past fall, but the project had several setbacks.
According to Vermont Public Radio, the contractor now tells the town that he can't perform the job.
That means the work will have to be bid again, delaying the project by another four to six weeks.
