BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Nurses at Fletcher Allen Health Care have reached a deal on a new contract, averting a possible strike next month.
The Vermont Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals says the tentative agreement was reached early Wednesday morning.
The central disputes had been over staffing levels and shift schedules. The hospital wanted nurses to work more flexible schedules. The nurses said the proposal would create unsafe conditions for patients.
They expected to release more details later.
