BRISTOL, Vt. -
A high-speed chase ended in a dramatic crash Thursday night in Bristol.
It started shortly after 10 p.m. on Route 17 when a Bristol homeowner called police to report that his car had been stolen.
Officers caught up to the vehicle and a chase began, topping speeds of 80 mph.
It ended when Jacob Bachand, 20, of Leicester, eventually lost control of the Buick, struck a utility pole, and then hit a tree.
Bachand was quickly arrested.
He sustained only minor injuries and now faces multiple charges including burglary and DUI.
