Black bears are increasingly coming
into residential areas in search of easy food. The Vt. Fish and Wildlife
department says bear-human conflicts have tripled in the state in recent years.
Essex is the latest community seeing
multiple bear sightings. Police are asking the public to discourage bear visits
by not leaving out garbage cans, bird feeders and other food sources.
