A 10-year-old boy was killed Friday afternoon in a lawn mowing accident in Benson.
Authorities say the boy, Maxwell Burns, was mowing a field on Lake Road for a family friend when he lost control of the mower. It overturned, trapping the boy underneath. Rescue workers performed CPR and the boy was taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center, but could not be saved.
Police are investigating the incident, the name of the boy has not been released.
