BARTON, Vt. -
Fireworks are a go in Barton again, hours after officials confirmed the show's cancellation.
Barton's fire chief says a last-minute deal will allow the department to hold the show at dusk on the Orleans County Fairgrounds in town Wednesday.
The show had been canceled due to what the chief called a "political issue that the fire department does not want to be involved in." He says representatives from the select board, fire department and fireworks company met Tuesday afternoon to jump through legal hoops and determine the new location.
Admission is free after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
