WILLISTON, Vt. -
Police across Vermont turned up the HEAT Wednesday. This week, State police announced a new speeding enforcement effort called HEAT-- or High Enforcement Area Teams-- in an effort to reduce traffic fatalities.
Wednesday morning, police say they caught two people driving faster than 100 mph on Interstate 89 in Royalton.
One driver had two young children as passengers.
Police ticketed and released both drivers.
