Townshend looks to repair firefighters' water source

TOWNSHEND, Vt. -

A Vermont community is getting ready to repair a water source for firefighters damaged last year during flooding from Tropical Storm Irene.

The repairs will include excavation, tree removal, and installation of a dry hydrant.

Firefighters say the pond off Route 35 was their best source of water, and they're hoping no major fires hit the area until it's fixed.

Bids are due next week.
