Vt dragon boat team wins gold medal in China

HONG KONG -

A Vermont dragon boat team has come out on top at the world championships in China.

The team called Dragonheart Vermont Sisters was one of 200 teams from around the world invited to the championships in Hong Kong. We featured them last month as they were training for the competition.

We learned Friday that the Vermonters won the gold medal in the 200 meter race. They will compete in the 500 meter race Saturday.

The team is made up entirely of breast cancer survivors.
