Saturday night racing hit the track at Bear Ridge Speedway, the only Dirt Track in the state of Vermont. Points leader Kevin Chafee rode with our in-car camera in the Modifieds. Jeff Elliott in the O6 car ran with the lead in a tight battle with Bob Shepard in the #6 for the first 28 laps. Re-starts and lap traffic made it an interesting race. Shepard got the jump around Elliott in lap 29 to take the lead. But Josh Sunn in the yellow #11 climbed through the field passing his way from 9th position, to take the lead and the win.
The Sprint Cars of New England racing at the ridge. Chris Donnelly in the green #17 took our camera along for the ride in this race. In six feature events this year, there were no repeat winners in this highly competitive class. The theme held true for race number seven. Matt Robie won his heat race and dominated the field despite some late cautions that closed the gap. Robie gets his first career win with the Sprint Cars of New England.
Bear Ridge is known as the "Home of the Coupes" and hometown driver Teddy Salamaa made himself right at home in this one. Salamaa wheeled the #8 car in a close battle with Steve Ellsworth in the #21. But this one belonged to Salamaa, who picked up his first career win in the Coupes.
