
A company in Maryland has purchased a high-tech Vermont business.
Telecommunications Systems has acquired Microdata GIS, a St. Johnsbury company that focuses on next generation 911 systems.
Telecommunications Systems officials say having Microdata under the company's umbrella will help expand next generation 911 across the country.
Microdata was founded in St. Johnsbury in 1983. It reportedly sold for $37 million.
It's unclear if any jobs will be impacted in our region.
