NEWPORT, Vt. (AP) - The city of Newport, Vt., is sprucing up some of its main roads.
The city is starting a downtown paving project on Monday. Crews will redo the pavement between Airport Road at the Coventry town line through Main Street, the Causeway and East Main Street all the way to the Derby town line. Much of the work will be done at night.
The Caledonian-Record reports the work is expected to be finished in mid-November, before a fall freeze.
Newport has seen several paving projects in the area in the past two years, including the recent work on the western entrance to the city, completed last year.
