RUTLAND, Vt. -

A Poultney man accused of killing his mother will remain behind bars.

At a hearing Thursday morning, the lawyer for Roderick Geronimo withdrew his motion to have his client released on bail.

Geronimo is charged with second-degree murder for the death of Gertrude Alwardt, 79, at their home in East Poultney. Police say Geronimo confessed to the killing, saying his mother was possessed by the devil.
