MONTPELIER, Vt. -
There is a new Freedom Tree at the Vermont Statehouse.
It honors Lt. Col. Donald Cook, a Vietnam War hero. Cook, a Burlington native, died of malaria in a Viet Cong prison camp in 1967.
Last month, the original Freedom Tree was taken down because it was rotting.
