BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. -
The Canadian energy company, TransCanada, is appealing the property value of its Bellows Falls hydroelectric dam.
Revenues from the Dam provide the village with about half of its tax base. But according to Vermont Digger the Company is appealing to have the value reduced by about 22-million dollars. If approved, the change would mean a loss of 640- thousand dollars in revenue for the village of Bellows Falls.
After striking out with the board of listers, the company will present its case this week to the local Board of Civil Authority.
