SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -
South Burlington Police now say they were wrong about a bank robbery suspect.
Surveillance photos show a man robbing the Peoples United Bank on July 5th. The suspect is a black man wearing a white shirt and tan pants. He flashed a gun and made off with cash.
The next day police said they believed the suspect arrived by bike. They released additional surveillance photos from outside, one of them showing a man arriving at the bank by bicycle and then walking into the bank. But police now say they have found the man on the bicycle and ruled him out. They say he was wearing similar clothes and rode past the bank just moments before the robbery, but is not considered a suspect.
